Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world.

Commitment to
Dignity

Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Commitment to
College Loyalty

From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain.

Letter from the President

Welcome to the website of Alpha Theta Chapter! We are excited for you to learn more about our sisterhood! My name is Megan Norris and I am the current Chapter President of the Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi at Coe College. I am a senior, and am currently working towards a degree in Biology and Environmental Science with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. I joined AOII through ongoing recruitment as a sophomore after a coffee date with a very passionate and incredibly kind senior member of the chapter. I knew from the day I joined that I would be supported through all of my endeavors, have many shoulders to lean on when needed, and find people that truly allowed me to be myself. With the constant and genuine encouragement from my sisters, I have previously served our chapter as the Vice President of Membership Recruitment before stepping into my role of Chapter President. The connections that our members have to each other truly creates a bond of love and loyalty (our chapter’s submotto!) that I hope everyone has the opportunity to find at some point in their college career and beyond! After being founded in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City, Alpha Omicron Pi has expanded to include 213 collegiate chapters, 158 alumnae chapters, and more than 165,000 members spread across the United States and Canada, ensuring that there is always a sister nearby. The traditions and values that AOII was based on live on through each and every member, emphasizing character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. In 2019, Alpha Theta celebrated its 50th year on Coe’s campus. Our chapter raises money for the Arthritis Foundation through three annual events: Smoke Out Arthritis, Teeter-Totter-a-Thon, and Crush Sale. We pride ourselves on having campus-wide leadership and involvement in everything from the Writing Center to theater and athletics as well as high levels of participation and support for the philanthropic events of other Greek chapters on campus. If you are looking for a diverse group of women, a home away from home, or to be part of a legacy of inspiring ambition, we would love to meet you! Alpha Love and Mine,

Megan Norris
